TITLE: Cape Haven
AUTHOR: Roseveare
RATING: PG13
LENGTH: 18,000 words
SUMMARY: Nathan Wuornos used to be a superhero. Now he's Police Chief of the little Maine town of Haven. But in the face of worrying statistics and a growing amount of trouble, he may need to don a costume again to lead a new team of heroes if he's going to make a difference. Ensemble, super-team AU, first person POV, UST between almost any 'ships you care to name, mostly gen.
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, no profit, yadda, yadda, yadda.
NOTES: Crack AU that has been simmering in my brain since... well, not long after I watched my first episode of Haven, actually. What can I say? I had fun.
NOTES #2: Significantly influenced by the style of the novel Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman. Which you should all read, because it's awesome.

So the fic based on a Tumblr post ( http://roseveare-ish.tumblr.com/post/79676831277/fandomdruid-haven-superteam-au-fwiw-guys ) and the book I happened to be reading at the time.

For serious, I could've posted this three days ago. I've been going insane over the picture. Because it struck me that if I can't use the art stuffs to draw them as superheroes in costume for the frickin' superhero AU fic, then what the hell is the point of doing the art stuffs at all?

I am never drawing Dwight again. Ever.

In the end, I decided that I could be tweaking the picture forever and the fic would never, ever land. It was really, really difficult, for the record, trying to draw them all in unique poses with individual costumes and to the same scale. And fuck muscles and anatomy in general. I am not a superhero comic artist, evidently. I am, however, very pleased with the way Nathan looks like he'd rather be somewhere else and everyone else looks perfectly comfortable and at home posing in the line-up.

This is the most neurotic version of Nathan I have ever written. Fun. :D

I think this one's been waiting since about March-April. Brought to you once again by the impulse of I-have-too-many-story-drafts-moldering-in-a-pile-in-the-corner-of-my-bedroom.
