I am so close to finishing the Haven novel I started for NaNoWriMo last year. Like, ~3000 words to go in which I know what happens, and I have the closing paragraphs written on a bit of scrap paper.
No December meme today I don't think but I have some art prompts coming up that I'll post in the next week or so, and a few more text ones. Still open for prompts, btw.
General stuff about the art to fill this space:
I'm so not a drawing 'things' art person. I'm a drawing people art person. All the interest is in the expression and the likeness in the face and the lines of tension and expression in the body. I was musing over this as I was posting the picture with Nathan's Bronco in the background the other day and thinking on how the biggest headache to draw by far in that picture was the car. The backgrounds are a kind of hell for me. Ugh.
I suck at drawing thin women. Thin people in general, but thin women in particular. Because my body model is me, in the mirror. And I'm not thin, I'm fairly sturdy. So all my characters end up built fairly sturdy when I draw them. Not so much a problem with Audrey because thank you Emily Rose and I usually manage to thin Nathan down a bit, but Jordan... Jordan is really very slim. I think the fail on this is noticeable in the superhero pic.
Maybe my colours are a bit lurid? Not sure what to do about this. Maybe I'll start sticking a few partially transparent layers on top to dim things down? Or try that... I don't know.
I'm setting out to make Haven Tarot. That's my next project. Already got all the characters and cards assigned here on Tumblr.
