Fortress is typed and clocks in at around 31,500 words, so I've achieved at least one thing this week. Now for the print and edit.
Going through the notebook, to double-check there's nothing to keep in it before I ditch it on the "used" pile (Entire longhand rough of Eurydice, fragments of Pirate Trouble that already got typed, and the whole of Fortress, so wow, that was one productive notebook), I just found the first 500 words I wrote of the Jordan, Nathan and Dwight crackfic Monster's Ball. It was supposed to involve a supernatural dimension hopping castle and an invitation along with other mystical creatures to an event annually hosted for a selection of the supernatural world, picked up at random. So they agree to go with the batty host that picks them up because they think they could learn more about how the Barn might work from the venue, and mingle with vampires and pain!Dwarves and various other random things. And then there is a murder and hijinks at the castle.
I don't know if I'll ever write it. It was a pretty demented idea. I just liked the idea of Nathan being vampire-bait because of his Trouble and Jordan being followed around by a race of pain-kinked fanatics and Dwight being... perplexed and trying to look out for the other two in all the insanity. And I just wanted to write more with these three together in general.
Not every idea always works out.
