Percentages

So I figured out that the first page of the M-rated section of Haven on fanfiction.net is dead-on 40% me.

Should I be proud yet or should I try to raise it to 50%? ;)

(I don't post my actually-NC-17 fics on ffn, apparently unlike everyone else (because apparently unlike everyone else, there is a strong precedent that when I break the rules I get caught, and I don't want to be banned -- It runs in the family: you should talk to my dad. He got a charged for accidentally stealing a beer glass). I post the R rated ones and the ones that are ambiguous about the R-Explicit divide. I cut the extended sex scenes from Comfortably Numb to post it there, but with that fic, that was really easy to do without altering the story too much, it's not something I'd normally do.)

Pondering whether I could vid a Nathan vid to On Fire on a Tightrope. I'd like to do Winter Ghosts, but I'd have to find some non-Haven footage and do weird extrapolatey-montagey-things because the footage for that winter just doesn't exist in canon.

You can blame that fanmix for these thoughts.

fic musings: Fortress, Monster's Ball

Fortress is typed and clocks in at around 31,500 words, so I've achieved at least one thing this week. Now for the print and edit.

Going through the notebook, to double-check there's nothing to keep in it before I ditch it on the "used" pile (Entire longhand rough of Eurydice, fragments of Pirate Trouble that already got typed, and the whole of Fortress, so wow, that was one productive notebook), I just found the first 500 words I wrote of the Jordan, Nathan and Dwight crackfic Monster's Ball. It was supposed to involve a supernatural dimension hopping castle and an invitation along with other mystical creatures to an event annually hosted for a selection of the supernatural world, picked up at random. So they agree to go with the batty host that picks them up because they think they could learn more about how the Barn might work from the venue, and mingle with vampires and pain!Dwarves and various other random things. And then there is a murder and hijinks at the castle.

I don't know if I'll ever write it. It was a pretty demented idea. I just liked the idea of Nathan being vampire-bait because of his Trouble and Jordan being followed around by a race of pain-kinked fanatics and Dwight being... perplexed and trying to look out for the other two in all the insanity. And I just wanted to write more with these three together in general.

Not every idea always works out.

EDIT: *re-reads bit about TARDIS!castle* OMG Duckula crossover! Duckula crossover! I MUST DO THIS!!! OMG just shoot me now.

I don't like Claire but sometimes I kind of have the urge to write Audrey/Claire femslash because it's the only f/f Haven pairing with a decent canon basis.

So I don't like Claire but I like that Claire and Audrey are slashy together and Claire follows her around on cases and every so often I think about doing something with that.

(The reason for this not-like is based on the fact she seems to break someone's patient confidentiality every time she opens her mouth and is just generally a horror story as any kind of therapist.)

(Jordan/Audrey is buy-able, totally, especially when AUing season 4, but it takes a bit of groundwork to set up. While Audrey and Claire could easily just be fucking. Totally.)
