I thought I'd publicise this: Fandom Growth Exchange. Signups end 24th August so a couple of days left. One or more of your tiny fandoms/pairings may be in there!

I have signed up for a bunch of these this year and I have the feeling that there are just a few people who sign up the same fandoms and we all end up going back and forth on writing for each other. Which is kind of amusing. I guess that would become a thing if you do these a lot. In the past I've just done the odd one.

So anyway, yes! More people! Sign up! More variety!

I made vegetarian peanut satay for myself yesterday evening which was an interesting experiment. Fucked up the recipe, completely actually, but it came out alright anyway. I'm too used to making things up.

Picked a home grown cucumber from the greenhouse to accompany it, too. :)

These retreats that I cook for, yearly, these people seem to get the idea that I am some kind of domestic goddess which is actually increibly hilarious because I am the most messy, disoganised thing ever in the kitchen. But when you're cooking for 15-30 people you have to get into a different headspace than that. And most of the time I am *make up stuff* and *hello Fridge what can I curry today?*

I am however working dilligently on never having to buy jars of ready made sauces again. I can do quick red pesto, green pesto, pasta sauce, and really I'd have no need to EVER buy a jar curry, it's mostly all I freakin' live on. My mum, though, is still enamoured of jars and insists on it being Seeds of Change or Hidden Vegetables when I cook pasta for them on Saturdays. (usually. They're away this weekend so I'll probably have curry tonight. ;D )

Mostly the only jars in my house lately are from the silly little flavoured coffees I'm partial to. I've been washing them and reusing them to store all the spices for the curries. (And herbs to make teas. Because the price of fruit/herbal teas is really starting to offend me at the moment, and I drink more of that than the silly coffees.)

I shall be attempting to bottle the dandelion wine today. I have no idea if that stuff will be edible, I didn't know what I was doing when I made it. The strawberry wine I made last month should do better, I think, since I had more knowledge and confidence. If the dandelion doesn't work, I'll try again next year, it's not like there's a shortage of those things on the allotment.

Either today or tomorrow I'm going to go looking to forage something else to make wine out of, as I'll have 2 demijohns free. I'm not strictly sure of what time things come out, but I know it was not far off from this time when we were up on the beacon hill last year and saw elderberries and sloes up there, and if I'm too early, it can be a reccy for a few weeks time.

Yes!!!!!!! House Divided finally picked up a kudos after the ending being posted. Okay, yeah, it was a 10 part WIP, people kudos'd as it was posted, and you can only do it once, but it's been a source of stress that it was just kind of... stagnant... since I added that ending onto it. There was so much thought going back and forth on that final Trouble and the practicalities of how to do it and how it could work and how to get Nathan to a point where that was a thing that he fit and I am still nervous as to whether it sells it.
