Holy shit. There's more Homeward Bounders fanfiction. When I first posted mine way back, I don't think there were any others. Now it's at the top of the list... Looks like I have some reading material for tonight!
I always loved this book. It's that kick of realisation, which I think is more gradual throughout the book than any one particular moment, when you realise that the story isn't being told by a child, but by an ancient, ancient, crotchety old man who still has the body of a child. It's one of those rare moments in fiction where something happens that's truly unique.
