I completely fail to understand how it takes anything away from Audrey/Nathan if Audrey also loves Duke. Then again, I'd rather Duke and Nathan got together and I don't really mind if Audrey were to join them or not, but either way Duke/Nathan or OT3 would be my endgame of preference, so I suppose I don't really have a stake in this. Or I guess my stake in this would be if anything that Audrey/Duke is of the good for reinforcing the OT3 angle, Still, Audrey chose Nathan and that's canon, and that ship has canon support. I just cannot with the massive fandom outcry of "oh this is so great a wound to my beloved ship!" every time Colorado is even mentioned when it's being dealt with as a plot point and the Audrey/Duke shippers are already making do with scraps.
Perspective on this is somewhat different this week because Haven was on early enough that I was getting to watch the reaction on Twitter last night as it was broadcast.
I am not entirely sure what I felt about the episode -- I think I'm going to have to wait for the conclusion and what they actually do with the threads they've begun to make any judgements at all. Mara is still playing everyone, and that's great, because there is still a definite need for Mara to earn her reputation. Dwight and Gloria were fun. Eric Balfour and Lucas Bryant are very, very good, although I'm tempted to say that for once this is highlighting just how good Lucas Bryant is, the more, which is not usually clear because he doesn't tend to get the 'exciting' material to play, because his character is low key and unless you consider how much every part of his body language and voice and attitude change when he's Nathan it's not clear at all that he is excellent, and Eric Balfour typically gets the praise.
But it actually felt like Vince and Dave were the main characters here. For variety's sake and exploring the wider arc I am not sure I have any problem with that.
That was longer than I intended.
