Two Yuletide fics now that we're unanon:
The Man Who Talked to Cats and Other Troubles
Author: roseveare

Fandom: Haven
Pairing: Duke Crocker/Jennifer Mason (Haven)
Length: 5292

Four Times Duke or Nathan Got Caught in the Crossfire (& One Time They Didn't)
Author: roseveare
Written for Lyrstzha in Yuletide 2014
Fandom: Haven
Pairing: Duke Crocker/Audrey Parker/Nathan Wuornos
Length: 7301
Summary: Audrey Parker is immune to the Troubles. Less so the two guys standing beside her...
I'll give these their own posts because I like to have all my fics available on-site at LJ/DW to avoid broken links and frustration, but this is the post where I come clean about them and natter a bit.
There's a great irony that after all the time I spent scouring the fandom list for things that I thought I could write and was willing and enthusiastic to try writing (Megamind was in there: loved that movie. And my old favourite show The Champions) that I ended up with a Haven request after all. I wrote a Jennifer casefile with a sprinkling of Dukifer and managed to get it posted in time and everything, which is definitely improvement from the last time I tried Yuletide and miserably failed to produce anything, so yay me! By the time it came to December 23rd I was still stuck in bed unwell and a bit loopy not having eaten anything in 3 days, but had a moment of insanity and "Gonna write Yuletide treats today!" I wasn't really up to trying on a new fandom so last-minute so Haven it was again. I only did one treat because it ended up being over 7k. And I was still editing that story 20 minutes after the archive had gone live.
Also I'd have to say I sincerely doubt that Four Times was particularly anon. Every Trouble in it was a body modification (not quite body horror?) sort of Trouble, which is my weird happy place, even without the crack factor. It was written so quickly it came out very unfiltered and I didn't have time to really do anything other than go with my first idea. (Although this was an old idea, in part, mulled over and forgotten when I first came to the fandom. It came back to mind when I was thinking about prompts, and the section with Nathan getting turned to stone in particular was harking back to old thoughts.)
So, a productive Yuletide, all in all, but no new fandoms. (The same thing happened with rare pair fest: got myself all geared up to write Old Who femslash and something else... I forget what else... and got an Audrey/Duke/Nathan request. But then I also managed to write something for these challenges and not fail miserably, on both counts, so there you go!)
